Professional Accreditation for the LMU-Harrogate PA Program:
The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Acccreditation-Continued status to the Lincoln Memorial University Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Lincoln Memorial University. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.
Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2025. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.
Professional Accreditation for LMU-Knoxville PA Program:
The LMU-Knoxville PA Program has applied for Accreditation – Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The LMU-Knoxville PA Program anticipates matriculating its first class in October 2020, pending achieving Accreditation – Provisional status at the June 2020 ARC-PA meeting. Accreditation – Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding Accreditation – Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.
The LMU-Knoxville PA Program will not commence in the event that Accreditation – Provisional is not received. Contact the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc., (ARC-PA) at 12000 Findley Road, Suite 275, Johns Creek, Georgia 30097, call 770-476-1224, or visit the ARC-PA website (http://www.arc-pa.org/accreditation/standards-of-accreditation/) for questions about ARC-PA Standards.
PA graduates must pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) in order to practice in all states, the District of Columbia, and all American territories. PA graduates are only eligible to take the PANCE if they have graduated from a PA program accredited by the ARC-PA. The LMU-Knoxville PA Program is responsible for obtaining and maintaining ARC-PA Accreditation and for complying with ARC-PA Standards and policies. The Program will inform all matriculating and enrolled PA Students in person and/or via email or U.S. mail of any change in the Program’s ARC-PA Accreditation status in addition to posting this information on the Program’s website.
