Yale is a research-oriented institution. Research is emphasized in the teaching program and culminates in the master’s thesis, capstone course, or doctoral dissertation. Faculty advisers help students with all aspects of their programs. A school-wide M.P.H. core curriculum, combined with divisional requirements, electives, and field experiences, promotes employment flexibility. M.P.H. graduates, aided by an active career services office, secure a wide array of positions in the health field. Doctoral students usually choose academic careers, though a number are employed in research settings.
Applications for the M.P.H. program are submitted through SOPHAS.org while M.S. and PhD. applications are submitted through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences application. Both have deadlines of December 15.
