MILNET (Shell Military Network)

MILNET was established in 2013 to assist in the hiring, training, and retention of military veterans. The main objective of this organization is:

  • Connecting veterans within the Shell community
  • Help facilitate the transition of employees entering Shell through the buddy/mentor system
  • Increase the quality and rate of development of prior military employees
  • Increase the retention of prior military employees
  • Promote long-term career affiliation with a professional Shell network
  • Serve as an internal consultant to Shell in the areas of hiring, training, and retention of military veterans

Accomplishments

  • Several Shell MILNET employees nominated and presented their supervisors the ESGR Patriot Award for support of service in the Guard and Reserve
  • Instrumental in the Shell donation of $100,000 to Fisher House, an organization that provides military families housing close to a love one during hospitalization.
  • Provides military families with meals while love ones are being treat in area hospitals
  • Actively involved in many military and veteran events each year
