Program Overview

The Morehouse School of Medicine Physician Assistant (MSM-PA) Program is a 28-month, full-time course study leading to

a Master of Science in Medicine Physician Assistant Studies Degree. A class size of 40 students will be accepted each year

with the summer semester starting in June 2023. The program comprises a 15-month academic year and 13-month clinical

year. The integrated coursework will focus on primary-care and specialty areas of medicine while incorporating a blend of

traditional and a case-based learning pedagogies.

Admission Criteria

 Completion of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required by May of the year of program entry.

A minimum cumulative and science grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on 4.0 scale must be achieved. The last 60 cumulative undergraduate semester credit hours > or = 3.0 may be used to calculate the cumulative GPA to meet this requirement.

Biology with lab 8 semester credit hours
Microbiology 3 semester credit hours
Organic Chemistry I with lab 4 semester credit hours
Biochemistry 3 semester credits hours
Human Anatomy or Anatomy & Physiology I 3-4 semester credit hours
Human Physiology or Anatomy & Physiology II 3-4 semester credit hours
Statistics 3 semester credit hours
Psychology 3 semester credit hours


Professional Accreditation

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the Morehouse School of Medicine Physician Assistant program sponsored by Morehouse School of Medicine.

Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA standards or when a program holding Accreditation-Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.
