Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), is a premier naval scientific and engineering institution headquartered on the Potomac River in Dahlgren, Virginia. We also provide Fleet support at our Dam Neck Activity in Virginia Beach, VA. 

Our mission is simple: we deliver warfare system to protect our nation and defeat our adversaries. To do this, we must push past the bounds of present-day limitations and imagine the future technologies necessary to maintain a competitive advantage.

As one of the lead laboratories for the Navy, our civilian scientists and engineers take on demanding research and development programs.  NSWCDD conducts advance research in all systems-related areas and pursues such scientific disciplines as physics, mathematics, directed energy and digital engineering, modeling and simulation, software, mechanical, electrical and systems engineering, to name a few.
