Research
The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center School of Public Health is committed to fostering research that improves public health and health outcomes, particularly among rural and underserved populations.
To achieve this goal, SPH is home to a distinguished team of 50 faculty researchers representing the five traditional disciplines of public health. Since the School's inception, extramural research expenditures have grown to over $7M per year in individual, program and center activities. Faculty and student research span a wide range of topics important for public health and health outcomes. This range is reflected in our diversity of Board of Regents approved Centers and Programs that focus on such areas as community and rural health, health care management, reproductive and child health, aging, health disparities, nutrition, physical activity and obesity, asthma and air quality, environmental toxins, program evaluation, and preparedness and response.
