Scholars at Batten approach the teaching of leadership through an “all of the above” approach. We combine rigorous data analysis and policy history with a crucial third step where most policy schools stop: teaching advocacy. Our core faculty also includes a strong cohort of psychologists and social entrepreneurs. We are unique in many ways.

The traditional MPP program takes two years to complete and attracts students from a variety of majors and with a wealth of work experience. We also offer five dual degree programs in partnership with UVa's top-rated professional schools:

Centers and Collaborations

Students are encouraged to develop their spcialized interests through Policy Centers and 18+ electives at Batten and other UVA's top-rated schools.

• Round #1 (Early Action)*             November 18, 2015    
• Round #2 (Standard Deadline)**  January 6, 2016 

*The Round 1 (Early Action) will allow those students who know Batten is their 1st choice to apply early and, if admitted, are prepared to accept the offer of admission.

**The Round 2 (Standard Deadline) will still allow applicants to be considered for fellowship awards as award funds remain available.

  • Create a Top Ten List that tells us something about you. Please limit your answer to 120 words.
