Working Environment:
Nestlé Purina is a beautiful blend of being business professional and also lighthearted. On any given day, there are 80-100 pets (mostly dogs) on campus, as we are very fortunate to have the opportunity to bring out pets to work with us. In support of a professionally-casual and pet-friendly environment, we have a variety of unique meeting spaces designed for impromptu collaboration. A few of these spaces include our Innovation Center, our Nescafé Coffee Bar and The Barkyard Lounge among other hotspots.
Dress Code: Business Casual
Throughout the year, there are opportunities to donate a minimum of $25 to a designated charity or program, which then provides associates with a “Jeans Badge” so they are able to wear jeans to work for five consecutive Fridays.
Travel:
Opportunities to travel and frequency of travel depend on the department and the specific job.
Diversity:
We are a uniquely, culturally diverse body of associates that prides itself on diversity of thought. We are committed to cultivating an inclusive environment that allows associates to grow and prosper in the best way they know how – through connection, collaboration and communication. Nestlé Purina developed a Diversity & Inclusion Council that has put forth a dedicated effort to elevate Purina as a top destination for diverse talent while fostering an environment that empowers all associates to bring their best to work.
Training:
Our Organization Development (OD) Team, housed within Human Resources, is designed specifically to help our associates of all career levels to learn and grow throughout their entire career with us. For new hires, we have a three-day New Associate Orientation (NAO) to formally onboard them, which includes a field trip to Purina Farms in Gray Summit, MO, presentations from leaders and executives of varying departments and an opportunity to meet and learn from the CEO. We offer associates access anytime, anywhere to over 6,000 research reports, journals and reference books, as well as 2,800 professional development and technical e-learning courses. In 2012, we designed a LEED Gold-certified 56,000-square-foot training and development center on our St. Louis campus, which we call The Danforth Center. It currently hosts both large and small meetings and training events on a daily basis for our associates - many of whom travel here for training from all over the world.
Tuition Reimbursement:
We are a proud advocate for continuing education. As an added benefit for our associates, a portion of tuition, books and other fees are provided to offset the costs of going back to school.
Working Hours & Vacation:
Associates are provided with 27 days of PTO after one year of employment, which includes holidays.
Career Track & Advancement:
62% of Nestle Purina North America has remained with the company for 10+ years. We are a company that employs three generations, and we’re otherwise known for welcoming associates into its doors and retaining them as top talent for decades to come. We offer several robust careers and career tracks, which vary depending on each associate’s background, experience and functional expertise.
Office Locations:
Our Headquarter is located on the southeast corner of downtown St. Louis, MO. We operate a small pilot manufacturing facility on campus, which produces product for promotional use. However, our 20 mass-manufacturing facilities in North America are located in:
Social Functions:
Each department and functional area typically arranges their own team building events and activities to keep associates engaged and to promote group collaboration. Company wide, we often have “Lobby Events” where associates gather in the Lobby of our St. Louis Headquarters to celebrate new products that hit the market, to celebrate charities or organizations we support, or to recognize people and opportunities. These events typically include music or some form of entertainment, as well as food/beverages and giveaways.
PetCare Pride Day is a day of civic duty – a day all associates step away from their desks to volunteer and give back to the local communities that support both pets AND people. This day as much of a social and collaborative event as it is a day of giving back.
