Doctor of Physical Therapy
George Fox University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is a three-year (with summers off) graduate-level professional program that prepares students to be eligible for licensure and entry into contemporary physical therapy practice.
The program is committed to improving our community's health and education. We provide faculty and students with opportunities to give lectures and seminars within the community as well as opportunities to volunteer and serve through national and international organizations.
Our on-campus clinic also provides physical therapy services to the community and rural areas around the Newberg, Oregon, campus.

Academics
The Doctor of Physical Therapy program prepares students to practice as proficient, ethical, and well-rounded physical therapists who successfully respond to the rapidly changing environment of the healthcare system.
The program curriculum emphasizes a problem-solving, evidence-based approach to learning. Curriculum includes the foundational sciences, research, behavioral sciences, clinical sciences, and clinical education.
How To Apply
Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. A undergraduate degree grade point average of 3.25 or above is required. The undergraduate degree does not have to be in the field of physical therapy.
- Completed application
- Official Transcripts from all institutions where even a single course was completed
- Resume of work and/or volunteer experience
- (1) Academic and (1) Physical Therapy References
- Observation Hours: 200 hours in 4 different domains of physical therapy
- Interview with the Admissions Committee
Application Cycle
Applications open July 1, 2018 for fall 2019
- The $40 application fee is automatically waived for applications submitted by August 31, 2018
- Final application deadline: November 1, 2018
- Interviews will be held the January/February 2019

- Apply Online
- Create an account with a username and password and complete the Doctor of Physical Therapy application online. Submitting the online application will require a $40 nonrefundable application fee.

- Submit Two References
- Submit (1) Academic and (1) Physical Therapy reference. These forms will be sent thru the online application system. If applying thru PTCAS, reference providers may email a PDF copy of their completed PTCAS reference form to dpt@georgefox.edu
in lieu of the reference forms from the application. - There Are No Testing Requirements
- The GRE or other standardized tests are not required. For other program requirements, please review our prerequisite requirements.
- International Students
- Additional requirements for International Students include:
- Transcript Evaluations for any credits or degrees earned outside the U.S.
- Non-native English speakers must submit a TOEFL score of 80 (Internet based) or OELTS 6.5
- Declaration of Finance and supporting financial documentation
