Key Faculty:

University of Michigan faculty are among the best in the nation, known for their trailblazing efforts across all research fields. They are often recognized by their peers and bestowed with top awards and honors. These achievements significantly contribute to our consistent record of top rankings and funding year after year.

As a PIBS student, you’ll have the opportunity to work with and be mentored by those researchers whose work interests you most. Year-one lab rotations offer an opportunity for students to further explore a research area of interest or discover a new one. Some students modify their course of study because of a lab. These rotations are an integral part of the PIBS experience—they help you identify where your passion for science lies.

  • The school was originally located in Detroit and relocated to its current location in Ann Arbor in 1837.
  • In its first year in Ann Arbor, the University had two professors and seven students; today the University is host to approximately 24,000 undergraduates, 14,000 graduate students, and 2,800 faculty members.

Ann Arbor is a unique community where myriad cultures converge to create a distinctive dynamic.  It’s a great place to visit, and even better place to live.
