About

Quality Behavioral Health, Inc. (QBH) is a non-profit organization that has been providing services to those suffering with Substance Use Disorders since 1996. Naveed Syed, a psychiatric social worker from Detroit, Michigan, founded QBH in 1995. The first treatment center was located on Woodward avenue, in downtown Detroit and in 1999 it moved to its current location on East Grand Blvd. QBH now has 2 outpatient locations: 7220 Gratiot Avenue, Detroit and on 37490 Dequindre in Sterling Heights MI.

This agency provides treatment and support for those beginning the journey of recovery and throughout the early parts of treatment until an individual has obtained the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the community. Our agency is licensed by the State of Michigan and has achieved CARF accreditation for detoxification and residential treatment. Specialty programs include treatments that benefit drug dependency and alcoholism, and services to those involved with the Department of Corrections. QBH has provided detoxification and residential services to over 36,000 individuals over the past 21 years.

Our agency provides comprehensive services to treat the whole individual by using medical, psychiatric, social and educational interventions. This allows a person to become stable again in areas such as getting and keeping a job, understanding addiction, staying/living sober, etc. These areas will reduce the risk of relapsing. Services are provided at the facility when possible, but often times, outside resources are also used and clients are provided with transportation to seek these resources. Counselors also provide case management to assist in legal, financial, or basic needs.

There are several programs offered at Quality Behavioral Health. Treatment generally starts with medically monitored detoxification, which allows those physically dependent on substances to clear their body from harmful substances. This is the first step that uses medication to reduce discomfort so a person may begin the treatment process. Once detoxification has been completed, individuals are offered the opportunity to begin Residential Treatment. This modality of treatment provides a structured and supportive environment for one to become educated about addiction, to develop relapse prevention skills, and to address both physical and mental health. This cohesive and structured program empowers those completing the program with the ability to maintain their abstinence once they have completed treatment.

There are a wide variety of special services that QBH provides. Women’s Specialty Services are offered at QBH. Prenatal care, parenting classes, and basic needs are all provided for through referrals or by qualified individuals to equip parents with the resources necessary to provide the best possible outcomes for their children. This program also allows women (or men) with dependent children the opportunity to save themselves and become capable, stable parents.

Our agency also provides dual-diagnosis treatment, which allows those with both psychiatric and substance use disorders to achieve the stability necessary to prevent relapse. Pharmaceutical and counseling interventions are used to assist clients in achieving emotional stability. Skill building and education are used to provide the necessary tools for these individuals to maintain this delicate balance.

QBH is staffed with qualified and compassionate professionals. Our team consists of a medical, clinical, and support staff. Each staff member is trained to provide quality, empathetic, and confidential care to clients at every stage of their journey and is educated regarding substance abuse, mental health, and crisis intervention. Some of our staff members are also in recovery themselves, and practice tools for recovery in their daily lives.

Quality Behavioral Health provides crucial services to those in need. Our goal from providing treatment to those suffering from addiction is to have them become stable and healthy again. Services are provided from the very first steps along the journey of recovery until the client is prepared to prevent relapse on their own.
