The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is part of the University of Edinburgh, and we are located in Scotland, UK.
Our veterinary campus, Easter Bush, represents one of the largest concentrations of animal science expertise in Europe and is just a stone's throw away from the beautiful city of Edinburgh.
The School is a world leader in veterinary education, research, and clinical practice, offering internationally accredited degrees via an award-winning curriculum, innovative teaching methods, and an interdisciplinary environment at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Our purpose-built campus, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Pentland Hills Regional Park, is home to more than eight hundred staff and almost fourteen hundred students, all of whom contribute to our exceptional community ethos.
We offer a 5-year degree for students with high school qualifications and a 4-year Graduate Entry Programme for students with a relevant degree. Both pathways lead to a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVM&S) which is equivalent to the North American Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and benefits from the same worldwide standing.
Our accreditation allows our graduates to practise in the UK, North America, Europe, South Africa, Australasia and beyond.
We maintain a steadfast reputation for excellence, consistently ranking among the top institutions in the UK for veterinary science. Presently, we are ranked second in the nation for veterinary science by both the Guardian UK University Guide and QS World University Rankings by Subject.
