UW-Madison School of Pharmacy

The UW–Madison School of Pharmacy is a recognized global leader in pharmacy education, research, service, and professional development. Our evolving curriculum and commitment to hands-on learning transforms our students into future healthcare leaders. We have over 8,000+ alumni networking with our current PharmD badgers, and we are rated as the #1 most affordable pharmacy school in Wisconsin. With 100% of our students matching in ASHP Residency and 98% (2023) job placement within six months of graduation, it is no wonder why the Doctor of Pharmacy program is consistently ranked as one of the best in the country.

Admissions

We evaluate every applicant holistically to find those who have the background and ambition to become pharmacy leaders. We do not require or prefer a bachelor’s degree for admission, however, all applicants must complete 72 credits of prerequisite courses at any accredited college/university, which typically takes two to three years to complete. Learn more about the PharmD application process and UW-Madison's application timeline

Scholarships

With generous support from donors, alumni, and other campus initiatives, over $500,000 in scholarships were offered to incoming PharmD students for the 2023-2024 academic year. All incoming PharmD students are automatically considered for scholarships as the committee uses their submitted application materials to determine eligibility. Merit and need-based scholarships are awarded throughout the rolling admissions cycle.

Curriculum

Our program is designed to prepare students to become leaders in health care. As the healthcare landscape transforms, our time-tested curriculum evolves with it so you’ll leave our program with the knowledge and skills employers need. Our graduates are pharmacists trained as scientists and clinicians ready to make a better world for patients and improve people’s health.

The Scholars in Pharmacy (SIP) is an office designed to support students who want to customize their degree and career path with certificates, concentrations, and cross-discipline study opportunities. Our program prepares students to be professional leaders by integrating interprofessional learning opportunities into the curriculum. Students can choose from a wide range of Pharmacy Practice Experiences and have the opportunity to engage in international rotations during their fourth year Advance Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE)
