I know I'm not the only one that feels that way- I'm pretty sure...

So how will Web 2.0 evolve to give us the best search results for what the consumer is really looking for? Twitter is just touching the surface! Twitter allows access to snippets of information from your dream employer. There are many intellegent people who, in the real world would charge you for the information, are just giving away job tips, information, and other networking goodies!

Where to Start

Follow the hashtag #tweetmyjobs or simply go to the website to search particular job titles on Twitter. It's a wonderful tool that pulls tweets for months, but orders them in chronological order. I found that it's a great way to search across the net. There is no limit to where the job is posted so it's not through just one or two venues.

Twitter Job Search is probably my favorite, though. It's free and simple. Just type in the potential job title and it pulls up hundreds! The disadvantage is that it's usually pretty repetitive.

Make sure your profile is job-friendly

You've probably heard this over and over- especially if you were a student when Facebook got big-- Make sure your profile is job-friendly. The last think you want is your potential employer or co-workers to see that wild night you don't remember from last week. Yes, even you look at those photos and cringe, what do you expect professionals to do?

So, even if I'm preaching to the choir- I've got to say it- keep your Twitter photo clean, and professional- it can still be fun!

Follow Them!

Start following the people and companies that you're interested in. Also, follow recruiters and other career coaches. You will come up with many inspiring career ideas, interview tips, and new places to look for jobs.

Here are some great Tweeps to follow from the wonderful writers from Mashable.com

There have been many innovative ways to change marketing, branding and customer service. We have also found a new way to get career advice.

@Careerealism is a community that gives great career advice. They've started a program called T.A.P. (Twitter Advice Project). Members can ask questions and get real career advice from the Careerealism team. The career experts post the question on Twitter with a link to the website that contains the blog and anwers to the questions.

I am impressed with the Careerealism style. They publish those questions that don't get published in books and standard career service sites. They have questions like: T.A.P. Q#84 - Saw Interviewer Out Drunk - Will It Cost Me the Job? or T.A.P. Q#86 - Boss Announced Reporting Structure Change Without Telling Me First…What Should I Do?

Remember to follow @careerealism on Twitter this week!

Find us on Facebook!

The social networking sites are booming with activity. Twitter's most recent news is a competition with CNN and Ashton Kutcher... a competition of who could reach 1 million followers. That's just one person! Ashton Kutcher won the victory and tracked the suspense with video documentaries as he went while CNN aired live with there promotions to follow CNN on each news story.

CareerEco isn't far behind. Of course, I can't say we have 1 million followers, but we rounded 1,000 this month and we're pretty proud! But Twitter isn't our only existence! We wouldn't be part of the 21st century communication unit if we weren't part of Facebook, too!

If you haven't heard yet, Facebook has recently reached to 2 million mile marker. Silicon Alley Insider noted that if Facebook were a country, it would be the fifth-largest in the world after China, India, the US and Indonesia.

You can now find us on Facebook! Become a "friend" of CareerEco.com by going to our profile and requesting friendship. We are available to chat if we are online, send messages, or share wall posts! You can view pictures of our Get a Green Career events, communicate with Eco-fans, Green group members and Eco-team members!

Also, stay up to date on our events and photos by becoming a fan of CareerEco. You can read our green career blog feeds and participate in green discussions. We will have live updates on green careers from our site to Facebook to keep all fans interactive. We have green career tips and updates live from twitter feeds, status updates on sustainable companies, and RSS feeds from our Green Career Blog.

If you don't have Facebook, join the party! From January to March 2009, people ages 26 to 44 made up the fastest-growing segment of the US Facebook population.

What are your favorite social networking sites? Have you found CareerEco on them?

Follow us on Twitter!

Follow @CareerEco

What is Twitter?

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

If you are not familiar with Twitter, now is the time to join in on the party!! There are unlimited resources that can assist the new tweeter. Twitter has their own blog that states facts and tips regularly. There are no official numbers on the amount of Twitter users, although, estimates are as high as 8 million users!

I still don't understand...

There are some terms to learn when using Twitter.

@ Replies. Twitter is a text-only medium of no more than 140 characters, but it’s also intended to support 2 way conversation. In order to have a conversation with another tweeter, use @ reply.

When you want to reply to someone’s tweet, or when you simply want to try to get a specific user’s attention on Twitter, you should include in your tweet their username preceded by the @ symbol. For example, to get my attention on Twitter, simply include @careereco at the beginning of your message. That will make your tweet show up in my “replies” timeline on Twitter. You can use more than 1 @(username) if you're talking about several people.

CAUTION: Using @ replies to get someone’s attention isn’t completely reliable. Users can configure their account to see @ replies from no one at all, only from their friends (people they’re following), or from anyone.

It helps to make it easy for people to contact you. I recommend that you configure your account to show all @ replies from anyone (default). This can become a valuable communication channel - especially as a way to meet relevant, interesting people by allowing them to contact you.

Short URLs. You can include links in your tweet simply by posting the complete URL, including “http://” - but you only have 140 characters total to work with, and some URLs are very long. Fortunately there are free online services that will create short, permanent “redirect” URLs that can replace long URLs. Three popular ones are snurl, tinyurl, and urltea. They all work basically the same way: You enter the long URL, and the service generates a short URL that you copy to your computer’s keyboard. You then paste the short URL into your tweet.

Retweet. Retweet is a tool (made easy by TweetDeck) that copies someone's post including their @name and retweets it to your followers. It's great to retweet what you find interesting and others will do the same to you!

Experienced Tweeters

once you're familiar with the basics, try an application called TweetDeck. It's a download for your computer that allows you to manage your twitter account with out using the web browser. It also integrates short url, @reply, retweet, and many more all on the same window to make ease of the social experience!
